![]() Fans have been running at about medium this entire time as well. Seems like it may be related to a windows installer process or service, had some limited success booting into safe mode and installed a few more drivers, but some of the drivers can't be installed in safe mode and messing with this windows installer process has not really yielded success. Install bar just hangs somewhere between 50-80% done. Most recent annoyance of the last 5h or so is that I can get into win10, but most drivers wont fully install. Searching for drivers on the device manager does the same. Eventually got back to normal desktop, win update wont finish, will search for updates forever. Seems like it installs all but one, then fails to install during the restart that is needed and back to the boot to recovery screen try something, it fails, and back to restarting again and again thing. Today I have been doing the same, starting at about 9am and its 10pm now. Then fully abandoning all the time I had put into installing and configuring crap and reinstalling windows from scratch. I spent like 6h after work yesterday trying various things, including abandoning most of the programs I installed by using system restore points, to minor success, only to fail to reboot after trying to install stuff again. Before with other PCs with older windows versions I'd just shut down and restart and it might fuss a bit, but it would get back to win10 without much problem. I'm not used to BSOD like this being a big deal. Eventually got back and then BSOD in a different game. Simple reboot didn't work and I spent probably an hour or two trying the various startup repair and other options to get back to win10. When I went to try Fallout 4 it BSOD at the new game mirror character creation screen, DCP watchdog violation ( from what I understand, that means a timer, which exists to catch program hangs went longer than it should have, thus registering an error ). Then I installed some steam games and got maybe 20h of quality gaming in over that and the next day. Those drivers and baseline programs that I need and configuring them the way I like took a couple more hours. Win10 was installed after maybe 4h of messing around with it. ![]() I eventually got it to work by pointing it to the drivers and having it get those loaded before trying to install windows. Initially I was having trouble installing Win10 from a USB drive. I went this route with the Max-17 w/ 2070. ( update, GPU is probably messed up, getting it RMA'd )
